Quick answer
Choose the Captain Pikachu Shoulder-Perching Plush if you want a wearable Pokémon plush that rides on your shoulder. Choose the Joltik Pokémon fit plush if you want a compact, display-friendly small Pokémon plush from Pokémon Center Japan.
The one measured size changes how you carry each plush
The Captain Pikachu listing gives a diameter of about 160 mm. That is the only dimension supplied, so treat it as an overall size guide rather than a guarantee of how it sits on every shoulder. The Joltik Pokémon fit listing does not include a measurement, so you cannot compare exact dimensions from the catalog alone. Use the Joltik's Pokémon fit line as a cue that it is a small plush, but confirm the size if precise fit matters to you.
Wearability versus display: the real trade-off
A shoulder-perching plush is designed to be seen while you move, so its value comes from the wearing experience. A Pokémon fit plush is typically collected and displayed, so its value comes from shelf presence and character accuracy. Neither approach is better in every case. If you want one plush for a convention or a walk, the wearable option earns its place. If you want a tidy collection piece, the compact fit plush is the calmer choice.
Brand and origin differences that affect collecting
The Captain Pikachu plush is made by Takara Tomy in Japan, while the Joltik plush comes from Pokémon Center in Japan. Both are authentic Japanese releases, but the maker difference can matter to collectors who follow specific plush lines. If you already collect Takara Tomy releases, the Captain Pikachu fits that shelf. If your collection is built around Pokémon Center's Pokémon fit series, the Joltik is the matching pick.
Trade-offs to weigh before you choose
- Wearable vs. display-first: Pick the Captain Pikachu shoulder plush if you want a plush that travels with you. Pick the Joltik Pokémon fit plush if the plush will mostly stay on a shelf or desk. Decide where the plush will spend most of its time before comparing anything else.
- Known size vs. unknown size: The Captain Pikachu plush has a supplied approximate diameter of 160 mm. The Joltik plush has no supplied measurement, so if exact dimensions are critical, ask for them before ordering.
- Maker line loyalty: Choose Takara Tomy if you collect that maker's releases; choose Pokémon Center's Pokémon fit line if that is the series you already follow. Check which line your existing collection belongs to so the new plush does not look out of place.
