Deciding between the Pikmin Plush Basket and the All Star Collection? We compare size, display, and value to help you choose the right Pikmin plush for your collection.
Quick Answer
For a display piece that stands out, choose the Ice or Glow Pikmin All Star plush. For a functional item that doubles as storage, the Red Pikmin Plush Basket is the better pick.
What Sets the All Star Collection Apart
The All Star Collection plushies are designed as classic character figures, each with a distinct pose and expression. They are compact and easy to place on shelves, desks, or alongside other Nintendo merchandise.
Because they are smaller and lighter, these plushies are ideal for collectors who want to display multiple characters without taking up too much space.
The Plush Basket Adds Functionality
The Red Pikmin Plush Basket is a larger, functional item that can hold small belongings like remote controls, snacks, or other plushies. It makes a statement as a centerpiece on a bed or shelf.
Its size and utility make it a different kind of collectible—one that blends decoration with everyday use.
Trade-Offs to Consider
The All Star plushies are more affordable and easier to display in groups, but they are purely decorative. The Plush Basket costs more and takes up more room, but it offers practical storage.
If you are looking for a gift for a child, the plush basket might be more engaging, while the All Star plushies are safer for small shelves or desks.
Decision Rules
- Choose the All Star plush if: you want a compact, affordable character piece for a shelf, desk, or display case, and you plan to collect multiple characters.
- Choose the Plush Basket if: you need a functional storage solution that also shows off your Pikmin fandom, and you have space for a larger item.
- Budget consideration: The All Star plushies are priced lower than the basket, so if you are buying multiple, the All Star line is more cost-effective. Check the current prices to see which fits your budget before you decide.
