When it comes to iconic villains in anime history, Frieza stands tall among the greatest. The Full Power Frieza S.H.Figuarts Battle Scarred Edition captures the tyrant at his most desperate and powerful moment in Dragon Ball Z. This review dives deep into the figure's sculpt, articulation, accessories, and overall value for collectors.

Whether you're a seasoned collector or new to the S.H.Figuarts line, this edition offers something special. With its battle-worn paint apps and dynamic poseability, it's a standout piece for any Dragon Ball Z display. Let's see if it lives up to the hype.

Unboxing and First Impressions

The packaging follows the standard S.H.Figuarts design with a window box that showcases the figure and accessories. The front features bold artwork of Frieza in his full power form, while the back displays various action poses. Inside, the figure is securely nestled in a plastic tray, with all accessories neatly organized.

Upon first handling, the figure feels solid and well-constructed. The paint application is clean, with the battle scars and scratches accurately applied to mimic Frieza's state after his fight with Goku. The skin tones are appropriately pale with purple accents, and the dark spots on his head and shoulders add a layer of authenticity.

• Clear, attractive packaging that displays the figure well.
• Secure tray keeps everything in place during shipping.
• Paint apps are sharp with no noticeable bleeding or smudges.

Sculpt and Paint Applications

The sculpt faithfully captures Frieza's menacing appearance from the Namek saga. His sharp facial features, pointed ears, and distinctive head crest are all accurately rendered. The battle scars are not just painted but also subtly sculpted, giving the figure a rugged, worn look that matches his state during the epic battle.

The paint work deserves special mention. The transition from his white skin to the purple sections is smooth, and the battle damage is applied with precision. The dark spots and scratches are distributed naturally, making the figure look like it stepped right out of the anime. The eyes are sharp and menacing, capturing Frieza's arrogant demeanor.

• Accurate representation of Frieza's full power form.
• Battle scars are both painted and sculpted for depth.
• High-quality paint apps with no noticeable flaws.

Articulation and Posability

S.H.Figuarts is known for its excellent articulation, and this Frieza figure is no exception. With over 20 points of articulation, including a double-jointed neck, ball-jointed shoulders, and hinged knees, the figure can achieve a wide range of dynamic poses. The tail is also articulated with multiple segments, allowing for expressive wrapping or curling.

The joints are tight and hold poses well, but not so stiff that they feel fragile. The figure can easily replicate iconic scenes, such as Frieza's death beam attack or his floating stance. The included interchangeable hands and effect parts enhance the display options, making it a versatile addition to any collection.

• Excellent articulation for dynamic action poses.
• Tail is fully articulated for added expression.
• Joints are tight and durable for long-term display.

Accessories and Extras

The Battle Scarred Edition comes with a generous set of accessories. You get multiple interchangeable hands, including fists, open palms, and a special hand for his signature Death Ball attack. There's also a Death Ball effect part that can be attached to his hand, along with a beam effect for his finger.

Additionally, the figure includes a damaged head sculpt with a more intense expression and additional battle damage. This second head adds significant value, allowing collectors to display Frieza in different states of his fight. The accessories are well-crafted and fit securely, enhancing the overall playability and display options.

• Multiple hand options for various poses.
• Death Ball effect part for iconic attack displays.
• Alternate damaged head sculpt for added variety.
